Version 2.3 released
I have released version 2.3 of the Google Maps component. New features include the ability to center on CB users, marker level filtering (&marker=), and an external javascript. In the near future, I'll release a module that can have a simplified google map in it, so that you can put a google map onto any page on your site. Many people that work on sites with listings (real estate, events, etc) have been asking for this feature.

Challenge is that inputing the Google API takes me away from the rest of the instructions. Not sure what else I needed to do. The page of instructions would not show when I hit the back button.
Would it be possible for you not to round the lattitude and longitude like so?
23 Waterloo Place and 9 Haymarket Terrace, Edinburgh are not the same place.
AB16 5GB and AB10 1BX are not the same place.

I have installed 2.1 and would like to upgrade to 2.3
Are there any instructions on how to do it and how difficult is it?

Oh, interesting people are using this. If you have questions, it's best to go to the forge discussion board at http://forge.joomla.org/sf/projects/google_maps
But since I am here, I'll help you out.
Cocreators: You can get back to the help by going to the "Manage Google Map Markers" option and then clicking "Help" in the top right corner.
Deizel: Yes, I've been meaning to get around to this. I've just gotta change the field from a text field to a float field.
Neil: Check out the discussion board as I have posted detailed instructions there. The quick answer is that you need to click the backup data link in the advanced tab of the configuration, unistall the old version, reinstall the new version, restore the old markers. This won't save your configuration so you'll have to do that on your own.
